This website is to showcase my work and provide background about myself. So what does LIUSY stand for? Well, Liu is my last name, S is my first name initial, and Y is my middle name initial. LIU+S+Y=LIUSY (or "lucy"). Why the leaf? It signifies a tree. I am amazed by trees. I admire their beauty, growth, versatility, and strength. It is ever changing, sometimes dormant, and sometimes flowering.A bit about me
Hi! I'm Sherry Liu. I am a graphic designer in the Kansas City area. I am currently completing an associates in Graphic Design at the Art Institutes International of Kansas City. I am taking classes to further my foundation in graphic design. However, I have work experience in graphic design. In addition to my current studies, I have a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (December 2008).
I am on the President's Council at the Art Institutes International. I established an interest group for AIGA at my school and I am the current President. I am an active member of AIGA and KC-AAF.
I have worked with multiple forms of print and digital media, such as flyers, letters, postcards, email campaigns, brochures, logo development, and website management. I have extensive experience in layout and composition. I enjoy working on precise, detailed projects and I am highly organized and adept at meeting tight deadlines. Prompt and professional work is very important to me. I have the ability to adapt to last minute changes, and am able to troubleshoot any problems.
Besides graphic design, I also have clerical skills and data entry.
